  1. Here's how it works: Access the TiVo® website from 5:01PM (PT) on 8/1/2008 through 5:00 PM (PT) on 1/31/2009 Follow the on-screen directions to enter the following: your email address. One entry per person/email address per monthly drawing will be accepted.
  2. Your privacy: All personal information collected by Sponsor will be used for administration of the Sweepstakes. In addition, entrants shall receive email correspondence from, or on behalf of TiVo, subject to TiVo's privacy policy. TiVo uses reasonable commercial efforts to comply with Federal CAN-SPAM guidelines, and entrants may subsequently opt-out of receiving further emails by following the opt-out instructions contained in the email. Any questions regarding privacy matters should be directed to the address set out below. Please refer to Sponsor's privacy policy located at www.tivo.com/privacy for important information regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information by Sponsor.
  3. Random drawing: Six (6) monthly random drawings will be conducted in accordance with the chart below from among all email entries received by the indicated final entry dates for each drawing. Drawings will be conducted by TiVo Inc., whose decisions are final in all matters relating to this sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received in each drawing. Purchase will not increase your chance of winning. Potential Winners will be notified by email within 7 days of winning. In order to claim prize(s), the potential Winner(s) will be required to complete an affidavit or declaration of eligibility and/or liability and publicity release which must be signed and returned so that it is received within 14 days of the date of notification or alternate potential Winner will be selected at random. Winner must claim the prize within 30 days from completing the affidavit or declaration of eligibility and/or liability and publicity release. If a selected Winner is not of the age of majority in Winner's state of residence, prize may be awarded to Winner's parent or legal guardian. Any prize notification that is unable to be delivered or completed or is returned to Sponsor as undeliverable for any reason will result potential Winner being disqualified and the prize being awarded to an alternate potential Winner selected at random. Prizes and approximate retail values: (6) First Prizes (One per monthly drawing)—A TiVo® HD digital video recorder (DVR) (Records up to 20 hours in HD (or 180 hours capacity in standard definition)) and a one-year service subscription One-Year service subscription (see details below). Approximate retail value of each prize: $478.00. Total approximate retail value of all prizes: $2868.00. Prizes consist of only those items specifically listed as part of the prize. If necessary due to unavailability, a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted at the sole discretion of Sponsor.
    *Actual TiVo recording capacity varies depending upon the type of programming being recorded. Each DVR requires its own TiVo service subscription and activation, and it cannot generally be transferred to any other DVR (see the TiVo Service Agreement for details).
  5. Eligibility: Open only to legal U.S. residents who, as of date of entry, are 18 years of age or older. Employees of TiVo Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. Void where prohibited by law. No substitution (unless pursuant to Section 4) or transfer of prizes permitted.
  6. Limitations and release: All applicable federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winners. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Sponsor shall not be liable for claims, suits, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light (whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory, expenses or costs or losses of any kind resulting from participation or inability to participate in this sweepstakes or acceptance of or use or inability to use the prizes or parts thereof. Winners release Sponsor from any and all liability and responsibility with respect to the prizes. Winner acknowledges that Sponsor has neither made nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, related to the prizes; provided, however, that the prizes include the manufacturer's standard limited warranty as set forth in the DVR Installation Guide. Sponsor is not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online systems, computer equipment, printers, servers, access providers, or software, including any damage to entrant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this sweepstakes; inability to access the TiVo Web Site, or any pages thereof, theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; entry submissions that are processed late or incorrectly or are incomplete, garbled or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on the Internet or any website; printing or other errors; any mailed entries which are late, lost incomplete, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, illegible or postage due, or any combination thereof. Proof of mailing entry or entering information at the TiVo Web Site is not considered proof of delivery or receipt. Illegible, incomplete and duplicate entries will be disqualified. All entries become the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged and all mail in entries will be destroyed ninety (90) days after the drawings. False and/or deceptive entries or acts shall render entrants ineligible. The courts of the State of California (Federal and State) shall have sole jurisdiction over any controversy regarding the sweepstakes and the laws of the State of California shall govern the sweepstakes. Each entrant waives any and all objections to the jurisdiction and venue in those courts and hereby submits to the jurisdiction of those courts. By registering to enter the sweepstakes, entrant affirms that they have read and accepted these Official Sweepstakes Rules. If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, or if this Sweepstakes or any web site associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Sweepstakes and processing of entries per these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in Sponsor's sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion thereof. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled, Sponsor reserves the right to conduct a random drawing to award the prize from among all eligible, non-suspect, Internet and mailed entries received for the applicable drawing prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation in combination with all eligible mail-in entries received for this Sweepstakes. If such cancellation, termination, modification or suspension occurs, notification will be posted on the website at www.tivo.com. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Where a dispute arises about who submitted an Internet entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address entered. The "authorized account holder" is deemed the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. A potential winner may be requested to provide the Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry and that all eligibility requirements are met.
    NOTE: Internet entry must be made by the entrant, only at the authorized website address of www.tivo.com. Entries made by any other individual or any entity and/or originating at any other Internet website or email address, including but not limited to commercial Sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering service sites, will be declared invalid and as such deemed ineligible for this Sweepstakes.
