| | To use a Home Control Cable with an RCA satellite receiver, perform the following steps:
| | In order to use home control, the RCA satellite receiver must have a home control/low-speed data port.
| | Plug the Home Control Cable into the home control/low-speed data port on the RCA receiver.
| | |
| | On the RCA remote control, press the Menu button. Select Options; then System Options; then Data Port; then Low Speed Data.
| | |
| | Connect the Home Control Cable to the serial control port on the TiVo DVR
| | |
| | Verify that the serial cable control option is selected for your DVR.
From TiVo Central, select Messages & Settings; then Settings; then Channels; then Channel Changing. Move through the screens until it asks if you want to continue using IR or Serial. If it says "Continue using serial control", continue through the screens. If it says "Switch to serial control," choose that option and the follow the on-screen instructions.

| | If you are unable to change channels using serial control, you will need to use IR to control your channel changes. Refer to How Do I Change Channels Using IR Control?
