Amazon Unbox on TiVo - Downloading Issues (Buy on TV)

What is “Linking” or “Account Linking”?
In order to download videos from Amazon Unbox, you must “link” your TiVo account with your Amazon account. This allows Amazon to send its Unbox video information to your TiVo DVR.
Sign up for an Amazon account.
Sign up here for access to your TiVo Manage My Account page.
WARNING: You can use only one Amazon account per TiVo account. (More info below.)
How to Link a TiVo Account with an Amazon Account
1. Go to the TiVo Account Linking Page.
2. Enter your TiVo account email and password, click “Continue”.
3. Read the Terms & Conditions, check the box accepting the terms, click “Continue”.
4. Setup Digital Payment Settings and TiVo Purchase PIN, click "Continue"
5. On the “You’re ready to go!” screen, click “Finalize”.
6. Check the list of registered TiVo DVRs and your ready to start downloading
You can also link your accounts from your TiVo DVR
1. Select "Download TV and Movies" from the Find Programs menu
2. Enter your Amazon.com account email address
3. Enter your Amazon.com password
4. Enter your TiVo "Manage My Account" password
5. Create your TiVo Purchase PIN
6. Confirm your TiVo Purchase PIN
7. If you haven't already established a default payment method for your Amazon account, go to www.amazon.com/gp/video/setup, sign into your account, and set up your Digital Payment Settings.
You must use a credit card for your Digital Payment method. You will not be able to successfully download an Unbox video if your Digital Payment method is a checking account.
If You Have Multiple TiVo Accounts…
Because you may only download videos from Unbox to a single TiVo account, you must combine any additional TiVo accounts you may have into a single account.
Contact TiVo Customer Support for help with combining multiple TiVo accounts.
IMPORTANT: After you’ve worked with TiVo Customer Support to combine your accounts you must re-link your TiVo and Amazon accounts in order to see your selected TiVo DVR appear in the Unbox drop-down window.
If You Have Multiple Amazon Accounts…
You must choose one primary Amazon account for use when linking with your TiVo account and downloading video from Unbox.
All purchases and rentals will be made through this Amazon account.
You can make changes to your choice of Amazon accounts at any time by:
1. Canceling the link for the first account.
2. Perform the linking process for the new Amazon account and your TiVo account.
WARNING: Remember to Re-Link Accounts. When a new Amazon account is selected, any videos purchased through the previous Amazon account will continue to use the licenses issued under the previous account. Those licenses will not be released until the new Amazon account is re-linked with your TiVo account.
Re-Linking Your Accounts
By linking your TiVo account to your Amazon account, you send a current list of eligible DVRs on your TiVo account to Amazon. So, any time you make changes to the DVRs on your TiVo account, you must re-link your account with Amazon in order for Amazon to register the changes.
Below are examples of when you will need to re-link your TiVo and Amazon accounts in order to download videos:
• If you add a new DVR to your account.
• If you cancel service on one of the DVRs on your account
• If the TiVo Service Number on one of your DVRs changes due to a replacement
• If one of your DVRs begins using broadband and so is now eligible to use Unbox
• If one of your broadband DVRs stops using broadband and so is not eligible to use Unbox any longer
• You change a DVR’s name using Manage My Account
Re-Linking Your Accounts
1. Go to http://www.amazon.com/gp/video/tivo to confirm your registered accounts.
2. Click “Unlink Your Account”
3. Your DVRs are now unlinked. To re-link your accounts, click “Register Now” and follow the prompts.
One of my DVRs is listed incorrectly with Amazon Unbox
If an incorrect TiVo DVR listing appears in the Amazon Unbox drop-down box you should try re-linking your TiVo and Amazon accounts. If this fails:
1. Go to tivo.com/manage and log-in to your TiVo account.
NOTE: Access to TiVo’s Manage My Account page requires an account.
If you don’t have one, take a minute to open an account while at this
page.
2. Select “DVR Preferences”
3. Verify the names of the TiVo DVRs on your account.
4. Select “Enable Video Downloads” next to the TiVo DVR you’d like displayed in your Amazon Unbox account.
5. Make sure your DVR is set to use broadband.
6. Force a connection.
7. Wait at least 2 hours.
8. Re-link your TiVo and Amazon accounts.
