I was recently seriously looking to change from cable to satellite. While the satellite program had a superior overall package (Number of channels and cost) I would have had to give up my TiVo HD and my TiVo Series 2 which I refused to do. Obviously I am hooked, and no wonder why. Both TiVo´s talk to each other and to my two Mac´s. Everything is so user friendly and telephone support when needed is prompt and efficient.

The Dish network says its DVR is better than TIVo. It is not...doing anything takes much more button pushing and is not as intuitive as TIVo.
